"Revolution Ropes" posted on: Wednesday, December 31, 2008 by: Bartlett_Law

I have posted on here about many ropes. A year and a half ago I got an email from the sandman asking me to try a revolution rope and report back on how it was. I didn't get a chance to get my hands on one until I visited thier booth at the WNFR this year. I purchased a couple of thier Assassin Ropes with the #5 tip accelerator. The ropes are built on bodies made by Fastback and for all intents and purposes swing very much like a fastback rope (which is a very good thing in my opinion). The tip accelerator does take some getting used to. For one thing, you can essentially only build one size of loop. If you don't feed enough into your loop, the extra weight makes the rope feel unbalanced and a bit clumsy. If you feed slightly too much into your loop there is a very high tendency for these ropes to figure eight. This does seem to limit a header a bit on being able to adjust loop size to fit the cattle being roped (probably not a problem for a heeler at all). However, there are some real advantages. For instance, you can REALLY, REALLY reach with these ropes. That little bit of extra weight makes it feel like you are throwing a baseball out there and if you drop a few coils the thing is deadly accurate. Also the tip is moving faster if you exert the same amount of force (a simple matter of physics) which does cause the loop to curl more and be less likely to waive off. All in all, the jury is still out a little bit on these ropes. I am going to order a few more using the discount picked up at the NFR booth and will most likely use them in situations where I have to reach, like rodeos. I would probably not use them at jackpots where consistently catching has far more to do with making adjustments to the cattle (i.e. score, position, etc.). Just my two cents. The one thing I would say is that these ropes have their place. I would not let the additional 10 bucks or whatever the price is scare me off. We spend so much at jackpots, if the $10 can make you better...go for it.

"Congrats Kinney Harrell" posted on: Wednesday, December 17, 2008 by: Sandman

Congratulations to Kinney Harrell for winning 3 out of 10 go rounds and nearly $70,000 at the WNFR. Kinney jumped from 13th to 5th in the world.

Congratulations are also in order for Kinney's horse Taz, who was awarded the Best Heel horse of the WNFR.

If you came by the booth in Vegas, be sure to redeem your discount by the end of March.

Also, we are looking for sales reps in all parts of the country. If you are interested or know someone who is, please contact us.

"Revolution Professional Bovine Capture Equipment" posted on: Sunday, November 09, 2008 by: Sandman

Good comments TXTEAMROPER, Revolution Ropes are designed to allow ropers to feel their tip without changing the way they rope, except that the roper won t have to try so hard to make the loop work. Where conventional non-weighted ropes make the roper force the loop to perform (which is difficult for many ropers), the Tip Xcelerator allows the roper to back off of the delivery and allow the rope to do more of the work. That is what technological advancements are all about. Allowing the equipment to perform to reduce the element of human error. You re right, there are plenty of good ropes out there. In fact there are about 150 ropes on the market. But there is absolutely nothing that significantly differentiates the performance of the loop from one rope to the next. Color variations, adding a fourth strand, adding a central core, blending different twines, removing the wax none of those changes have done anything to SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVE THE ACTION OF THE LOOP TO HELP YOU CATCH MORE STEERS AND WIN MORE MONEY. THE TIP XCELERATOR DOES. I would prefer not to lump Revolution Ropes in the same category as all of the other twisted twine on the market. I would prefer to market our product as Revolution PBCE (Professional Bovine Capture Equipment). But I don t know where they would list that in the catalog. One of four things will happen with more experienced ropers: 1. They will remain ignorant to advancements in technology and they will get passed over by the younger, more open-minded generations. 2. They will try a Revolution Rope and like it but not be able to afford it. 3. They will try a Revolution Rope and not like it. 4. They will recognize the importance of keeping up to date with newer and better equipment, try a Revolution Rope and never use a non-weighted rope again. Regarding the price, our ropes are not artificially over-priced. There are several reasons why Revolution Ropes cost more. First and foremost, they work better than conventional ropes and they will give you a competitive advantage. What that is worth is different to each and every roper. Whether or not you can afford a Revolution Rope depends less on how our ropes compare in price to other ropes, and more on your level of competitiveness and the payout at the next event you are going to. Ask yourself what you are willing to pay for a competitive advantage? Second, while other rope makers were twisting twine essentially the same way it has been done for centuries, we were putting extensive effort and financial resources into developing the Tip Xcelerator and the Revolution Loop Sizing System to create ropes designed to perform a single task as effectively as possible. It took us years of research and development to perfect the technology. Third, you will get at least 20% more runs out of a Revolution Rope because the Tip Xcelerator protects the tip from breaking down and developing that dead feel. Even when the rest of the rope starts to fray, the Tip Xcelerator provide feel and action after other ropes would have been retired. Fourth, the Tip Xcelerator is not cheap, and neither are our rope bodies. We start with the best bodies on the market and combine the Tip Xcelerator to make the best rope ever produced for competitive roping. If you're still thinking that you can almost buy two cheap ropes for the price of one Revolution Rope, well you get what you pay for and it will be reflected in your roping. As long as everyone else is using the same non-weighted ropes, then you will be on the same playing field and it won't matter. However, we are selling ropes. We have repeat customers. And they are winning. The question is whether you want to be one of the first to have the best rope, or be forced to make the change later. Golfer Sam Sneed once said that you can t buy your golf game in a pro shop. But I think it was Tiger that said, Sam didn t have today s pro shops. Today's best ropes will soon be in rope shops. But for now, you can get them directly from us. Thanks for reading, Sandman 1.866.427.3876 www.RevolutionRopes.com Remember $1,000 USTRC Bounty 15% off first order

"Merry Christmas from Revolution Ropes" posted on: Thursday, December 20, 2007 by: Sandman

We want to thank everyone that came to our booth at the Ariat Country Christmas. We probably measured over 1,000 ropers loop sizes, and two things are for certain...the vast majority of headers throw a #5 Revolution Loop Size, and the majority of heelers throw a #7 RLS. If you throw a smaller loop and don't feed, you may be a #4 head or a #6 heel. If you are throwing for rodeo runs or just swing a real big loop, you will be a #6 head, and possibly a #8 heel. It may sound confusing, but the system is really pretty basic.

Another thing that we noticed is the tendency of some headers to walk up to the dummy and really try to jam it on. When you are running down the arena at 20+ miles an hour with a non-weighted conventional rope you do have to throw your loop harder to get the loop and the tip to perform, and many ropers have unconsciously trained themselves to do this.

However, with the Tip Xcelerator you can hold onto your loop a little longer and back off of your delivery to let the rope do more of the work, and get more action for you. For most headers this was not an issue, but for some it took two to four throws at the dummy to understand this and let their hand and mind adjust to the added weight. I am explaining this to make it easier for some ropers to adjust to the benefits of the Tip Xcelerator.

Kids had no problems throwing our ropes for the first time, simply because they physically do not throw as hard, and have not developed the habit of jamming the loop. Also, there was little or no adjustment period for the heelers and calf ropers that were throwing at the Hot Heels dummies.

Thanks again to everyone that stopped by. The show was outstanding for us, and we will be back bigger and better next year. If we sized you and gave you a card, please call before the end of the year to get your show discount.
