NRS Trailers Team Roping Event

On Saturday, October 17, NRS held its sixth NRS Trailers Team Roping event and gave away a 2010 Trails West Adventure MX II 2-horse bumper-pull trailer with front tack plus $19,148 in cash and other prizes. Mitch Waters marked up 45 points at the end of the day and took home the trailer.

The number seven drawpot started at 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Mike Cooper accumulated 17 points to start off the day with second and third place. Claton Tingle and Juan Jody Rodriguez took home the average winning buckles and $650 each with 7.88 on their third steer and a total of 30.14 seconds on three. Paul McDeavitt and Cooper were 31.7 seconds on three for $486 each, Ronnie Hall and Cooper were 33.55 for $325 each.

The number nine drawpot followed the seven. Mitch Waters and Kelly Swafford marked a 9.02 on their third steer for a total of 31.09 to bring home $2,100 and the average winning buckles. Warren Hudspeth and Gary Campos had 33.56 on three for $1,724. Jeffrey Williams and Dennis Fulfer were 34.47 on three for $1,272.

Before the number eleven drawpot that finished off the day, Gary Campos had 19 points, Mike Cooper had 22, and Mitch Waters had 28. Campos, heeling for Riley Williams, gained another ten points with his first place in the average. They were 26.99 seconds on three for $2,018. Mitch Waters and Doc Brown were just over a second behind them placing second in the average and taking home $1,658. Waters and Campos roped together adding another eight points to their tally for third place and $1,224.

After the points were tallied, Mitch Waters came out on top with 45 points. Gary Campos was not too far behind him with 37 points. NRS is in the works of planning their next trailer roping on March 20-21, 2010. Look for more ropings and more information at NRSworld.com.
