6/25 Drew Horner: Uncoiled. Preparing for the summer run
0 For the past few weeks, I have been preparing for the summer run. Well, now we are here. We went to two rodeos on the way to the Bob Feist Invitational (BFI); Santa Fe New Mexico, and Pleasant Grove Utah. We didn’t win anything at Santa Fe but we won 4th in the first round and 4th in the average at Pleasant Grove.

We have a slow week this week since the only two rodeos we are going to are Reno, Nevada and Pecos, Texas. We have been staying at Jade Corkill’s place in Fallon Nevada, about an hour away from Reno. It’s been really good to be there and practice, and to also put our horses in big pens and let them relax a little bit this week. It’s always good to have good friends on the road that will open their doors to you and let you stay, and essentially, live at their place for a little while. He has a great family, and Buddy and I really appreciate what they are doing for us. As I have said before, if you want to be a winner then surround yourself by winners. This goes for anything, if you want to have good practice and good relationships, find the people that are good ropers and also people of good integrity.
Until next time. DH
