Fast Back Ropers Shine at 2014 USTRC Finals
Oklahoma City, OK – Everyone who ropes at the USTRC finals dreams of winning first. That dream came true for more than a few Fast Back ropers, during the 2014 USTRC National Finals in Oklahoma City, OK.

Clay Tryan, reigning PRCA world champion header, has been riding high leading the world standings most of this year. That talent and momentum earned Tryan a total of  $62,490 for his efforts last week. He started by winning the Open Shoot-Out at the Lazy E, followed by a second place win in the Open Preliminary at Oklahoma City. Tryan’s biggest win came when he and partner, Jade Corkill, won the Priefert Open Shoot-Out and split $81,840. Winning the short round with a quick 5.65-second run was a bonus. Clay finished up the Priefert US Open Tour with 106 points and emerged as the champion header, earning the $10,000 payout.

Up and coming talent, Chase Graves, Poplarville, MS, started a successful week by winning second in the #15 Shoot-Out heeling for his dad, Frank Graves. The pair roped five head in 37.32-seconds to split $46,000. Chase went on to win the #12 Preliminary and earn another $10,300.

Arguably one of the toughest female ropers going, Fast Back cowgirl, Barrie Smith, Stephenville, TX, won the #12 Gold Plus Shoot-Out heading for George McQuain. For her part Barrie won $28,900 and a Case Tractor. Barrie also won the Cruel Girl Standings for the year with total earnings of $43,291.

Texas roper, James Tettenhorst, Jacksonville, TX, had one of the best weeks overall with total earnings of approximately $70,000. James accomplished this by winning the #12 Invitational and the #11 Preliminary. He also placed in the top ten of the #13 Shoot-Out and #10 Shoot-Out.

Arkansas Fast Back cowgirl, Lori Thone, won first place heading in the #10 Invitational and split $53,200 with her partner, Andrew Kelly.

Overall, Fast Back cowboys and cowgirls won $299,120 at the 2014 USTRC Finals. Congratulations to all the winners this year.
