Old Buddies, New Ropers.

IMG_3118__ After knowing each other for 18 long years, team roping was something Brandon Taylor and Rory Lopez had never done together. Rory had been a bulldogger most of his life when Brandon suggested that Rory learn to heel so they can start practicing together. Brandon put Rory on a rope horse a few months ago in hopes the former steer wrestler would catch on quick, but while the rope horse went left Rory stayed strait. The two then decided to come to NRS for a roping clinic. In April, Rory and Brandon attended our Level One clinic, and last week they completed their Level Two.

When asked what their thoughts were on the clinics Brandon, the more experienced roper, said “Don’t ever think you can’t improve, the Level One Team Roping Clinic was humbling, and taught me more than I thought it would. It took me back to the basics and that’s exactly what I needed”. Mr. Lopez followed with “You just gotta do it, don’t be scared.”

Both agreed that the cooking doesn’t get any better either. All in all they had a great time and we look forward to their future trips out here to rope with us.

We would love to have you and your best friend, spouse or family member attend a Team Roping Clinic. To find our more please visit our website at NRSevents.com or call 940.626.9192.
