10/9 Drew Horner: Uncoiled. TOP BOMBERS IN THE PRO TEAM ROPING

0

Everyone loves seeing headers that can reach. Guys that are willing to back into the box and throw for first every time are always fun to watch. They are the guys that even us competitors like to watch because you never know what could happen. They could either set an arena record, or… something wild could happen! You just never know. Here’s my list of the top Bombers in Professional Team Roping, in no particular order.

sIMG_1183            Nick Sartain. Nick has been reaching ever since I can remember. I have never known this guy to ever back down. He is one of the most consistent bombers out there. He just proved it the last two nights in Omaha, Nebraska by turning two steers right out of the head box from, what seemed like, two coils back, roughly 24 feet, which is a long ways from horseback.

Spencer Mitchell. Spencer is FUN to watch. When he reaches, the head loops literally “POP” on the horns. When he catches, the steers get turned fast too! His head loops hit hard and come tight fast. He is one of those types where when it happens, it happens fast. When he backs in, be ready to watch!

Blasingame           Ty Blasingame. They don’t call him “Blaster” for no reason. This guy has been going fast for a LONG time. He is gunning every time. Here lately, he has been a little conservative in some areas, which has actually improved his game, but for the most part, his reputation of being “Blaster” precedes his new tunings to his style.

Kaleb Driggers. This guy is by far one of the best bombers in the game. HE CAN DO IT! It’s ridiculous sometimes. When he throws, you think he’s crazy, until it goes on and he is turning a steer for first. Then you think he’s incredible. It’s unbelievable how he does it and how many times he can do it in a row until you see him day after day turning steers for first.

Colby Lovell. Lovell is one of those guys that can get on any horse and win. It doesn’t matter what he is on he is throwing for first. He is aggressive and smart. He didn’t rodeo hard this year. Instead he stayed home a lot, but still has had a great year, and still has a chance at making the finals. His bombing skills are pretty unique. He has the ability to control it and use it when he needs it.

Now, I have a few notables below that I couldn’t include in this list for a few different reasons. Check them out and see what you think.

Notables:

Speed Williams- Although the original “Bomber”, I couldn’t include him because he is not currently rodeoing full time.

Brady Tryan- This guy can do it, believe me. But he is not just a bomber, he’s got a few other characteristics that include him in a different category, in my opinion.

Aaron Tsinigine- The only reason he is not on the list is because he has not made the finals yet, but I am sure he will soon.

Tyler Wade- The same reason as Aaron has above, he will be there soon I’m sure though.

Luke Brown- He has more to his game than just bombing out. Really aggressive, but knows when and how to be smart.
